Setsuko Murakami, Au.D., has practiced as an audiologist since 2003. She obtained a bachelor’s in speech and hearing sciences as well as a master’s in audiology, both from the University of Washington; Dr. Murakami later earned her doctorate in audiology from Salus University. She is board-certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. 

Dr. Murakami has worked at a variety of clinical settings, including the House Ear Institute and the House Clinic in Los Angeles, in addition to Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle; she has been fortunate to also work at private practices in both Hawaii and Washington state. Dr. Murakami has extensive experience with both pediatric and adult patients, including years specializing as a cochlear implant audiologist. Her current focus is working with adults, providing diagnostic audiological evaluations and hearing aid fitting and care. Dr. Murakami follows evidence-based practices and utilizes current technology, such as real-ear measures, to optimize patient benefits. 

In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog and husband, exploring new restaurants, reading a good mystery and spending time with her niece and nephew.
